One good storm here in Houston and that thing is a fancy bird bath. A lot of extra work for a fire pit with no airflow and a hassle just to clean it out. Then it’s stuck right there as a big bulky obstruction. I was told not to do this in regards to a concrete wall for a fire pit especially with no rebar support, as the trapped water molecules that never fully dry or the ones that soak in from the rains to come will expand and crack your work or has the potential to be explosive.
